Pengalaman Jadi Orang Yang Kontroversial.

I am so glad that I took this picture during my Korea trip last year. I can use it now. 🙂

Eike ngga masalah.

WHAT THE F*CK, buat apa lu suruh gue jadi orang lain ketika gue mau jadi diri sendiri? itu akun pribadi gue, gue ngga ngomong di KoreanUpdates kan?

Gampangnya jadi orang kontroversial? Bisa ngomong apa adanya tanpa perlu hati-hati. Its me.

Tapi harusnya kalian merasa tertantang, bukan merasa direndahkan. Harusnya kalian jadi tambah semangat buat maju, bukannya jadi berapi-api ngehina gue. Pikiran kalian harusnya sih terbuka yah, jangan jadi makin sempit.

P.S: It is very easy for me to hit the block button, and I don’t give a f*ck. 🙂

Watched Mission: Impossible Rouge Nation in SphereX

To tell you the truth, I have never watched the other Mission Impossible movies.

So this afternoon, out of my boredom, and to avoid crazy traffic in the evening to meet my friends at Grand Indonesia, I went to buy Mission: Impossible Rouge Nation ticket just to try the new SphereX theatre in CGVBlitz Grand Indonesia, the ticket costs me Rp. 55.000.

SPHEREX CGV BLITZ

Entering the SphereX theatre makes me feel so small, it is so huge and the screen is amazing. It has a reclining seat, but kinda small for a big fat person like me, but its alright. Lesson learnt. I have to buy the seat about 2-3 row behind the middle seat to enjoy my next SphereX movie. I bought the H row.

Okay now let’s talk about the movie. One thing for sure, even if I have not watched the previous movies of Mission Impossible, I know Impossible is nothing for Tom Cruise (Ethan).

I really enjoy the 130ish minutes movie, 2 hours seems not that long. The story is well executed, the jokes in the movie make the audience laugh, i did laugh so hard on some part. They really put the jokes in a very good timing. And I really like the scene where *spoiler alert* they meet the British Prime Minister, so funny, even now when I’m thinking about the scene, it makes me smile.

Action. Comedy. Story. All good, all placed in the right timing. You should watch it in IMAX or SphereX.

My UBER Experience! Cheap and Cool!

Disclaimer: This blog post is not a paid post, it is really based on my personal experience in using UBER services.

In the past few days, I’ve been using UBER, because I still has the UBER credit i need to use and I’m not in hurry as well. What I like about UBER is that, they give the conventional taxi  driver a chance to earn more money than they used to in a taxi company. I think its a 80 for the driver 20 for UBER. which is awesome right? It’s a healthy relationship.

As I talked to some of the drivers, they are mostly ex-taxi driver, where they work from morning to night to “work” they ass off to feed the company. I don’t know if it is true, but they said to me, if you earn Rp. 1 million, the company will take Rp. 900k, you used your own money to buy petrol. I can only say WHAT? SERIOUSLY?. They replied: “Yes, we are not joking, so I think UBER is the best job for us”.

Other than ex-taxi drivers, I encountered those who become UBER driver on the weekend or after their real job, it is a side job for them. Some drivers said to me they can earned Rp. 1 million a day (it is their share), a pure income, if they work hard. Imagine you did that for 2 days, 8 days a month, you can earn an extra Rp. 8 million plus salary from your real job.

For me UBER is not just kind towards their drivers, but also to customers like me. I love cheap and worth it stuff, and I think UBER is awesome. I used it to go to the airport once, it cost me only Rp. 66,500 which i paid Rp. 0 because i still have Rp. 150,000 of credit i get from a friend of mine!

Other taxi company will cost me Rp. 120,000 (still not include the toll road fee). See the difference? You can get a grande Starbucks drink while you wait for your flight!

Another example, when I booked a taxi from other company, they have a minimum charge you have to pay, Rp. 40,000, but UBER is no minimum charge. So a trip that cost Rp. 20,000 you don’t have to pay Rp. 40,000. As simple as that!

Screen Shot 2015-08-09 at 9.40.21 PM

Today I went to fX from my house, it usually cost me Rp. 50,000 – 60,000 under normal smooth traffic using the other taxi company. But UBER makes me happy again, I only pay Rp. 37,000 which i paid Rp. 0 because I STILL HAVE THAT UBER CREDIT!

Screen Shot 2015-08-09 at 9.39.54 PM

Do spread the love of UBER, you can use my code: o87jc or go to this link: http://www.uber.com/invite/o87jc so you can get Rp. 75,000 off your first ride! And by the way, you are going to have your own special code as well, so when your friend use your code, you also can get Rp. 75,000 extra on your UBER credit. And also it needs a credit card to register, but I never used it even once!

Thank for reading this, this is my very own personal experience with UBER, they don’t pay me to write this. If it is good, its good and you should try it!

Common English Mistakes Indonesians Make

You’re welcome. not your welcome. :))

pojok monicantik : my corner to be free

So here’s the list of the common typos or maybe appropriately stated as salah kaprah English terms Indonesians make. Mungkin terasa sepele, tapi kalau didengar oleh orang-orang yang sudah fasih berbahasa Inggris dan tau yang bener seperti apa, well it can be a bit annoying.

1. Deadline vs Dateline

Orang Indonesia sering salah mengartikan.

Kalau ditinjau dari segi arti kata: deadline artinya the point in time at which something must be completed.
The word “dateline” is used today mainly to label the bit of text at the top of a printed news story that indicates where and—often, but not always—when it…

Why I Like INFINITE? ∞

That question is always asked to me. or why you like KPOP?

For me, now KPOP is a sweet escape when I feel bored. But i don’t just listen to any KPOP songs, in my playlist, INFINITE taken 25 songs in 100-song playlist, in 25 most played songs in my iTunes, INFINITE songs took the top spot.

But which group happened to come to my liking before INFINITE? The always be the king of KPOP DB5K (as 5 members), Super Junior (the gagmen of Kpop), and BIGBANG (always swag). But before all of them, I like BoA and H.O.T first. Oh. I’m so old. 😦

So why i like INFINITE?

They have a leader that always getting bullied, or leader who bullied his younger members, or leader that goes solo…

No. I like their music, since their debut era until today. I like their dance; powerful, synchronised, and simply awesome. *okay biased detected*

No. I don’t know what I like this group. It just clicked. done.

They are the only group that make me want to queue overnight just to get the front spot, and cry during their encore just because I was afraid I can’t meet them anymore. AND That’s make KoreanUpdates so biased towards INFINITE. Sorry. I just want them to get more recognition.

This year, they are making another world tour, so hopefully, I can get over it (but I don’t think so). I will fly to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur or Hong Kong for their concert (either one or two of these city plus Jakarta)

Money, come to me please.

A Dream Trip to EUROPE (Preparation Part 1)

Tapi gue kan orangnya optimis, bisalah, guekan suka pergi-pergi, bisalah.

Harganya? US$ 879.68, dan kurs bulan Januari 2015 masih lumayan yah, so It is cheap for a five-star airlines lho.

St Christopher's Inn Paris - Gare du Nord
St Christopher’s Inn Paris – Gare du Nord | Price: € 87.52 (2 dormitory bed di 6-bed room)
Hotel Euro Capital Brussels | Price: € 94.50 ( 1 night twin bed room)
Hotel Euro Capital Brussels | Price: € 94.50 ( 1 night twin bed room)
Courtyard by Marriott Cologne | Price: € 115 (Per night Twin Bed Room)
Courtyard by Marriott Cologne | Price: € 115 (Per night Twin Bed Room)
